Carport system projected to generate over 2 million kilowatt hours of electricity annually
ARMONK, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Brightcore Energy, a leader in developing and implementing renewable energy solutions for the commercial and institutional market, and Bancroft, a regional nonprofit organization providing education, support, and services to individuals with autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and brain injury, jointly announced the completion of a carport solar project.
The project, located at Bancroft’s Raymond & Joanne Welsh Campus in Mt. Laurel, NJ, consists of over 2,800 solar panels installed on a canopy structure erected above the school's parking lot. The 1.5 MWdc array is projected to generate 2,044 MWh of energy annually, offsetting approximately 80% of the school’s annual energy use.
In addition to the solar project, Brightcore installed three dual-port EV chargers to provide staff with the ability to charge applicable vehicles while they go about their workday. The array has also been designed to provide the added benefit of providing protection from the weather.
