Here’s what you need to know.
What Is the FlexTech Program?
The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) offers cost-sharing support for technical assistance services that help building owners identify and prioritize energy efficiency and carbon reduction opportunities tailored to their facilities.
Through FlexTech, NYSERDA will share the cost of eligible technical studies — up to $500,000 — supporting engineering-level analysis of:
- Geothermal systems
- Conventional HVAC replacement
- Hybrid solutions
The program is designed to give New York building owners access to the expert analysis they need to make informed, long-term decisions about their energy systems, without bearing the full cost of that work alone.
Who Qualifies for the FlexTech Program and How Much Is Covered?
Cost-sharing levels vary by organization type:

| Commercial, industrial, institutional, and multifamily facilities | 50% |
| Colleges & universities | 50-75% |
| P-12 schools | 75-100% |
