Work is underway to upgrade nearly 5,000 lighting fixtures across the 126-acre campus of Germantown Academy in Fort Washington, PA. A college preparatory school founded in 1759, Germantown Academy boasts more than 260 years of history and tradition of educating pre-k to grade 12 students.

When complete, the conversion will reduce the school’s energy use related to lighting by 59% and will be cash flow positive in less than four years. In the 15 years following installation, the cost savings is estimated to exceed $1.46M. In order to accommodate the school’s academic calendar, work will be completed over the summer break.

“We are proud to partner with a leader in the independent schools of Pennsylvania to lower their carbon footprint, improve aesthetics for the students and teachers, and lower operational costs," said Brightcore President Michael Richter, who attended the school. "Every bit helps and GA is certainly doing their part!”
